Active adult communities aim to service the interests of active adults over the age of 55. Housing types often include condos, townhouses, and single-family properties, and all are designed with an eye toward delivering a maintenance-free lifestyle for residents. Such communities offer a vast array of on-site activities, including exercise, social clubs, art instruction and lecture series.


Now, just because you’re 55+ doesn’t mean that you have to purchase your new home in an Active Adult community. We can search for homes where ever you want. It’s just that in doing so, with my SRES designation, I’ll be more aware of and be able to point out options that will best fit your future needs.

You can qualify for an H4P (HECM for Purchase) if you’re at least 62 years old and the new home will be your primary residence. Houses and most condos qualify. There are no monthly payments throughout the life of the loan. The loan is non-recourse, which means that you and your heirs are not responsible for any portion of the loan balance that exceeds the home’s value at the time it’s sold or the loan is repaid.
